Unfortunately I would have to put Sweden in about the same predicament as Japan and South Korea, in that Sweden has to import nearly all of its oil. Using EIA data, in 2009 about 98 percent of Sweden’s oil consumption was from foreign imports. Sweden is therefore nearly totally dependent on the continuation of imports, mainly from Russia, Norway and Denmark (I wish I could find the percentages of imports from each). But, net exports from Norway and Demark are both in a long-term downward trend, and as I noted in past articles, it looks like Russian exports could be peaking now.
I hope that Swedes are not as ignorant of the impending problems this will cause as Americans are.
